Invisalign Express

invisalign expressInvisalign Express was introduced to the marketplace in the later half of 2005. It is a lower-cost and traditionally faster treatment than Full Invisalign, but is intended for mild or less severe malocclusions (misalignment of teeth).

With Invisalign Express, your treatment is limited to up to 10 aligners.

Do I qualify for Invisalign Express?

To qualify for the Express option you must meet certain predetermined clinical criteria that can be determined by your Invisalign dentist or orthodontist. So, if you’ve got really screwed up teeth, Invisalign Express is probably not an option for you.

Here are the exact qualifications that we found:

Your case meets the following clinical criteria plus is 10 or fewer stages:
• Spacing or crowding of less than 2 mm per arch
• Rotation of cuspids/bicuspids less than 10 degrees
• Rotation of incisors less than 15 degrees
• Less than 1.5 mm dental expansion per arch
• Less than 2 mm midline correction
• No mesial or distal movement of the molars or bicuspids and less than 1 mm distal movement of any cuspid
• No pure extrusions

The Invisalign Express Treatment can also be used to supplement veneers or other cosmetic dentistry procedures.

What Does It Cost?

Most offices that we’ve seen average around $2500 for Invisalign Express. The lowest Invisalign Cost we’ve seen is $1800, the highest quoted $3500. Don’t just go with the lowest cost office though! You’ll have a much better experience and treatment with an office that does a significant amount of Invisalign cases each month.

How Long Does It Take?

From our research most Express cases seem to take around 6 months vs. the 12 month average treatment time for Full Invisalign Treatment.

When you see your dentist for a free consultation, make sure and ask about the Express option. You likely won’t qualify for it, but it doesn’t hurt to ask!
